CLARIFICATION ON DOMESTIC CUTS IN AGRICULTURE

The attention of the Government has been drawn to a statement ascribed to Dr. Sanjaya Baru, Media Adviser to the Prime Minister pertaining to the WTO negotiations on domestic subsidies in agriculture. This is to clarify that the statement ascribed to Dr. Baru reflect his personal views. The stand of the Government on effective and substantial cuts in Overall Trade Distorting Domestic Support (OTDS) in agriculture remains unchanged.
