JYOTIRADITYA SCINDIA TO INAUGURATE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON CEMENT & BUILDING MATERIALS ON NOVEMBER 17

Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, will be inaugurating the 11 NCB International Seminar on Cement & Building Materials, here on 17th November 2009. The 4-day (17-20 November) seminar is being organized by the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) – a premier scientific and industrial research organization under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
With emphasis on cement, allied building materials & construction industries both at national & international level and consolidating the joint efforts of all the related organizations, the 11 NCB International Seminar will deliberate on technological innovations and emerging trends in the related core activities.
Over 600 delegates including about 70 from overseas countries are expected to participate in the seminar. The areas coming up for discussion during the event would be Waste Fuel Utilization and Combustion Systems; Modern Trends in Project Engineering & System Design; Productivity Enhancement & Process Optimization; Emerging Trends & Other Building Materials; Performance Durability and Sustainability of Concrete Systems; Total Quality Management; Energy Conservation & Environmental Improvement and Environmental Management and Mitigation of Global Warming. The thrust, however, will be on cost-effective cement and construction technologies, energy efficiency and environmental excellence related issues.
A special publication on “Global Economic Scenario – Challenges and Outlook for Indian Cement and Construction Industries” will also be released to mark the occasion. A Technical Exhibition, bearing on themes of the seminar, will also be organized to highlight the related products and services.
