BOA GRANTS 3 FORMAL AND 3 IN PRINCIPAL APPROVALS

The Board of Approval of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) met today to consider proposals for setting up of Special Economic Zones and also to approve other miscellaneous requests pertaining to SEZs.
Addressing the Board of Approval members, the Chairman informed that so far 578 formal approvals have been granted for setting up of SEZs out of which 353 have been notified. He further informed that over Rs.1,48,489 crore have been invested in the Special Economic Zones during this short span of time and direct employment of the order of 5,03,611 persons has been generated in the Special Economic Zones. During the financial year 2009-2010, total exports of Rs.2,20,711 crore has been made from SEZs.
In this meeting, the Board recommended grant of three Formal Approvals and three In-Principal Approvals.
· Formal Approvals:
IT/ITES - M/s. Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited at Nellikode & Pandeerakavu village, Kozhikkode District, Kerala.
FTWZ - M/s. Avash Logistic Park Private Limited at Villages- Mota Layaja, Godhara & Bayath, Taluka- Mandvi, District –Kutch, Gujarat.
IT/ITES – M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited at KIADB Industrial Area, Hebbal – Hootagally, Mysore, Karnataka.
· In-principle Approval:
Pharmaceu-ticals- bulk/APIs/formulations - M/s. Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Association at Nakkapalli Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh.
Multi Product – M/s. Sealand Ports Private Limited at Villages – Layaja, Ratadiya, Godhra, Bayath & Undoth, Taluka- Mandvi, District-Kutch, Gujarat.
Aluminium sector - M/s. Hindalco Industries Limited at Bargwan, District Singroli (Formerly District Sidhi), Madhya Pradesh.
Among other items, seven proposals for grant of co-developer status were approved.

M/s.Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) IT/ITES at Madhurwada, Andhra Pradesh, M/s. E Centric Solutions Private Limited as a co-developer.
Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) Multi Product SEZ at Naidupet and Pellakuru Mandals, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, M/s. Prime Electric Limited as a co-developer.
M/s. Aachvis Softech Private Limited IT/ITES at Plot No. 7, Sector 144, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, M/s. Three C Facility Management Private Limited as a co-developer.
M/s. Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) IT/ITES at Pajeeru-Kairangala, Mangalore, Karnataka, M/s. Leela Lace Holdings Private Limited as a co-developer.
