RESTRICTION ON IMPORT OF ALABASTER STONE REMOVED TO
EASE AVAILABILITY OF RAW MATERIAL FOR DOMESTIC INDUSTRY

The Government has removed restriction on import of alabaster stone vide notification No.42 dated 15/11/2000. The step has been taken to provide the necessary raw material for the domestic stone craft industry. The handicrafts made of alabaster are also being exported. This notification fulfils a long-standing demand of domestic stone craft industry.
