AMANDMENTS ON STANDARD INPUT-OPUTPUT NORMS FOR DYE STUFFS AND DYES INTERMEDIATES NOTIFIED

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued Public Notice No.63 dated 28/01/2002. Vide this public notice, the entire notified Standard Input-Output norms (SIONs) for Dye Stuffs and Dyes Intermediates under the Chemical Group of Handbook of Procedures Vol.2 has been rationalised, keeping in view the international practices regarding their nomenclature and manufacturing practices. While rationalising these SIONs, colour indices of their hue numbers and actual dyes content have also been incorporated in the description as per the international practices being followed in the matter. Also, the number of Input Output norms for the same dyes/dyes intermediates appearing at different places due to alternative routes of manufacture have been clubbed together. This exercise carried out in consultation with Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals and Dye Manufacturers Associations of India will eliminate difficulties in identification of dyes and dyes intermediates at the time of exports as well as for the closure of their advance licences cases after fulfillment of exports on account of divergent practices being followed by exporters for the nomenclature of such product.
