IMPORT OF VEGETABLE FATS, ACRYLIC YARN, COPPER PRODUCTS AND ZINC OXIDE PERMITTED UNDER INDO-NEPAL TRADE TREATY

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a Public Notice No.9/2002-07 dated 30/4/2002 permitting import of (i) 1,00,000 MT in case of vegetable fats (vanaspati), (ii) 10,000MT in case of acrylic yarn, (iii) 7,500 MT in case of copper products and (iv) 2500 MT in case of zinc oxide from Nepal, under Indo-Nepal Treaty of Trade, as renewed on 2/3/2002, in accordance with Customs Notification No.40/2002-Customs dated 12/4/2002. These imports will be allowed only through the Land Customs Stations (LCS) at Kakarbhitta/Naxalbari, Biratnagar/Jogbani, Birganj/Raxaul, Bhairahawa/Nautanwa, Nepalgunj/Nepalgunj Road and Mahendranagar/Banbasa.
