PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION OF SCRAP IMPORT MADE MANDATORY

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued Public Notice No. 18 dated 21/10/2004 on the import of metal waste and scrap in order to:

1. Make the Pre-inspection Certificate referred to in Para 2.32 of the Handbook of Procedure conform to the new provisions laid down vide Public Notice N0. 16 dated 15.10.2004.

2. Correct the typographical error at Para 2.32 (i) (I) referred to the aforesaid Public Notice. Appendix-8 has been amended to read as Appendix-28 in the said para.
