GENUINE CONCERNS OF EXPORTERS WILL BE LOOKED INTO FOR EXPORT PROMOTION: ANAND SHARMA

Shri Anand Sharma, Minister for Commerce and Industry has assured the Industry and trade bodies including exporters that their genuine concerns will be looked into while formulating the Foreign Trade Policy. During his interactive meeting with the CII and Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) here today, he stated that “inputs provided by the Industry and exporters will help in softening procedural hassles as well as reforming trade in a greater way.” Shri Rahul Khullar, Commerce Secretary and representative’s from various Export Promotion Councils (EPC’s) were also present at the meeting.
While the FIEO representatives requested for the enhancement and continuation of incentives under various export promotion schemes, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) highlighted the bottlenecks being faced by different sectors. CII in their presentation stressed on raising the share of goods and services exports in Indian GDP and wished for raising India’s share in global services exports in the next 5 years.
While concluding the interactive session, Shri Anand Sharma assured the trade bodies that all possible support would be given to see that trade delivers its twin objective of leveraging of trade for employment generation and economic growth.
