INDIA’S PROPOSALS ON AGREEMENT ON AGRICULTURE AVAILABLE ON WEBSITE

In the context of ongoing negotiations at the World Trade Organisation (WTO), India has filed it proposals on the Agreement on Agriculture. The Cabinet Committee on WTO matters had earlier approved the proposals. The text of the proposals, which are in the areas of market access, domestic support, export competition and food security, is available on the web site of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry – at http://commin.nic.in/doc
Also, all the issues of the monthly newsletter of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry (Department of Commerce) on WTO matters titled "India and the WTO" starting from January 1999, are available on the web site. The newsletter seeks to provide complete information about India’s stand on various WTO matters as also other developments relating to WTO. The site also has the soft copy of the booklet on QRs (Quantitative Restrictions) which has been published by the Ministry. Details of removal of QRs on Balance of Payments (BOP) grounds, information on TRIPs, TRIMs, ITA and the work programme on Electronic Commerce are also available on the site. India's proposals on the ongoing negotiations on "Services" are also available on this website.
Besides the above, the web site also contains information on India’s trade statistics, anti-dumping measures, trade agreements/transit agreements, EOUs/EPZs/SEZs and the MDA Scheme for promotion of exports. The Exim Policy 1997-2002 is also available on the web site. The site also contains information on the organisational set up of the Ministry including details of India’s commercial missions abroad. The latest press releases issued by the Ministry have also been put on the web site.
